I ran in compatibility mode (I tried every mode, but mostly XP(SP2)), checked reduced color mode, pretty much tried any combination at this point. I reinstalled D2+LOD multiple times from different sources including the official Version on I tried the following (which happens to be a nice checklist for everyone having the same problem): I never even get to see the main menu, it just blackscreens and crashes. So I get the above error message whenever I try to start d2, with or without LOD. So, i know i'm not the only one having this problem, but i seem to be the only one where NOTHING i do works.
